Samsung Galaxy Nexus officially announced : Android 4.0 , 4.65″ Super AMOLED HD display


Ahead of the Android 4.0 ie Ice Cream Sandwich launch event , details of the next Nexus phone ie the Samsung Galaxy Nexus have been given out by Samsung. What we have here is an absolute monster in terms of specs. The phone is powered by a 1.2Ghz dual core processor , 1GB of RAM. The display as expected is a 4.65″ SAMOLED HD panel which pump out an absolutely staggering 1280x720 resolution. Click through to get the lowdown on the entire spec sheet !

Samsung Galaxy S II US Variants Announced



Samsung Galaxy S II is already available in most of the European and Asian countries from the last 3 months, but the customers in the US were left behind. This handset was announced and showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 in Barcelona. After waiting for almost 3 months, Samsung finally went ahead and launched the much-awaited Galaxy S II in the US. This handset is available in 3 variants exclusively for the AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint customers.
The AT&T and T-Mobile’s version of the Galaxy S II is simply called as the AT&T Galaxy S II and T-Mobile Galaxy S II respectively. But, the Sprint version of the handset is named as the Samsung Epic 4G Touch. There are minor changes in the design of the device, but all the 3 variants share common features such as the 1.2 Ghz dual core processor, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System, 8 megapixel camera with full HD (1080p) video recording and much more.
“The unveiling of the Galaxy S II is a landmark achievement for Samsung, our carrier customers and consumers,” said Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Mobile. “Five million Galaxy S II smartphones have been sold around the world and that number increases every day. We believe the cutting-edge design, features and user experience of this innovative device will share the same level of success in the U.S.”

This handset allows you capture the screenshot of the device, just by pressing the power button and the home key simultaneously. AT&T Galaxy S II will be available from September 16, while the Sprint Epic 4G Touch will be available from September 18 for $199.99 on contract. Samsung Galaxy Xcover rugged Android phone announced



Samsung has announced its first rugged phone, Samsung Galaxy Xcover, which is the new addition to the Galaxy series . It runs Android 2.3 and comes with scratch resistant display, and it is dirt and water-resistant up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. This phone would compete with Motorola’s rugged phone,Motorola Defy that was launched last year.

Some of the specifications like processor is still unknown.The price is still not available, but it is expected to be around € 250 (US$ 355). It would be available in Germany starting this October.
