Nokia Link is the magic that connects your Nokia N9 to your computer

If you just bought yourselves a shiny new Nokia N9, you are probably eager to connect it to your computer and fill those 16 or 64 GB with tons of multimedia. And, boy, does Nokia have the tool for you.
gsmarena 001 Nokia Link is the magic that connects your Nokia N9 to your computer
The Finnish company has just posted an article on their blog, dedicated to Nokia Link – the software kit that makes the connection between your N9 and your computer seamless. Available as a free download for Windows 7, Mac Snow Leopard and Mac Lion, Nokia Link only takes a minute to set up.
You then plug in your Nokia N9 and the transfers may begin. To borrow a quote from Nokia itself “No fuss. No hassle. Just simplicity.”.
To be honest, we don’t see anything simpler than mass storage mode, but we’ll let this one slide just because we like MeeGo so much. N9 owners, please proceed this way to download Nokia Link and get going.

SIM-Free Nokia N9 to land in UK through Unofficial Channels

nokia n9 uk price
When the Nokia N9 was announced during CommunicAsia we stumbled upon a list of countries which would get the device,  many countries including UK, USA and India were missing from that list. Now Nokia has confirmed to some publications that the device wont be coming to UK or US. Now couple of leading online retailers in the UK – MobileFun and Expansys are taking pre-orders for the device.
MobileFun is quoting 519.95 GBP for the device (inc. VAT) for the 16GB SIM-Free version of the N9 and Expansys is yet to disclose the price. The N9 is powered by the MeeGo operating system and sports an excellent design. While the N9 might not appeal to the average mobile phone user, tech savvy consumers were pretty pumped up about the N9.  I’m not sure if anyone would buy the N9 at such a price tag.
In countries where the device will be available the actual price might be close to our estimates. But in other markets where online retailers are going to be importing the device from outside , the price of the device is certainly going to come at a premium. There is so clear release date as of now but it might eventually ship in 2011.
Who want’s to buy the N9 ?

Nokia N9 not coming to USA

The Nokia N9 which will be Nokia’s first and only MeeGo device is eagerly awaited by people all over the world but it seems that America will not be able to experience the awesomeness of the user interface. Engadget has been reaching out to Nokia for a comment regarding availability of the device and sadly the answer is no. The reply can be read below in its entirety.
“After the very positive reception to the launch of the Nokia N9, the product is now being rolled out in countries around the world. At this time we will not be making it available in the US. Nokia takes a market by market approach to product rollout, and each country makes its own decisions about which products to introduce from those available. Decisions are based on an assessment of existing and upcoming products that make up Nokia’s extensive product portfolio and the best way in which to address local market opportunities.”

Nokia N9 countdown has begun

Nokia has just provided the first concrete indication for the launch date of its critically beloved (but strategically doomed) handset, the N9. A countdown has emerged on the dedicated Swedish site for the MeeGo smartphone, pointing to 10AM on September 23rd as the crucial time. Below the ticking digits, there’s also an invitation to become one of 30 “N9 Pilots,” who’ll be a lucky group of testers that get to enjoy the N9 in September and even keep it when they’re finished.
