Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Revealed in Photos

The folks at SammyHub have posted the first photos of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 which seems like a 7.7 inch Android  Honeycomb tablet. From what we can see , it runs on Android Honeycomb , sports a 7.7 inch display with no physical menu keys and includes a 3.5 mm audio jack on the top. On the back it has a Camera with an LED flash and a metallic casing.

Looks like there is a SIM Card slot in the side along with a microSD card slot. Stay tuned while we get more details from the Samsung press conference at IFA , Berlin

Sony Ericsson announces Xperia arc S, coming in Q4

Sony Ericsson has announced their new Xperia arc Android smartphone. This has been upgraded from their previous Xperia arc and they claim that this has 25% faster camera start up and 20% faster web page rendering compared to Xperia arc. This runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and the it is powered by 1.4Ghz processor. It has 4.2 inch Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and 8 MP camera with Exmor R image sensor.

This has 3D and 2D sweep panorama photography so that the panorama images captured can be viewed on a 3D TV using the HDMI output. This also comes with Sony Entertainment Network services such as Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited that lets you listen to 10 million unique songs and ad free radio channels, and watch Hollywood blockbusters, all-time classics, and TV shows from all major studios.

Motorola PRO+ Android Business phone announced

Motorola has announced their sleek Android business phone, Motorola PRO+ that runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). This phone has physical full QWERTY keypad and it is powered by 1GHz processor.

Photo Sharing through NFC in Nokia Symbian Belle Phones

We had the chance to check out the NFC feature in the newly announced Symbian Belle Phones. You can transfer photos from one phone to another by merely tapping the phones together.  Watch the video below to see the technology in action. In the first part of the video a photo is clicked with a Nokia 600 and is sent to another device via NFC or Near Field Communication.  In the second part a wallpaper is shared in a similar fashion.

NFC is expected to go main stream in the coming years and looks like Nokia might benefit from the early mover advantage. The Google Nexus S Android phone also supports NFC. The iPhone 5 is rumored to sport NFC.

The application of NFC is not limited to file sharing but can be used for mobile payments , gaming and as authentication tokens. One of the biggest deployments of NFC is in Japan and you can pay for your train fare with your phone.

Samsung Galaxy S II US Variants Announced

Samsung Galaxy S II is already available in most of the European and Asian countries from the last 3 months, but the customers in the US were left behind. This handset was announced and showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 in Barcelona. After waiting for almost 3 months, Samsung finally went ahead and launched the much-awaited Galaxy S II in the US. This handset is available in 3 variants exclusively for the AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint customers.

The AT&T and T-Mobile’s version of the Galaxy S II is simply called as the AT&T Galaxy S II and T-Mobile Galaxy S II respectively. But, the Sprint version of the handset is named as the Samsung Epic 4G Touch. There are minor changes in the design of the device, but all the 3 variants share common features such as the 1.2 Ghz dual core processor, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System, 8 megapixel camera with full HD (1080p) video recording and much more.

This handset allows you capture the screenshot of the device, just by pressing the power button and the home key simultaneously.
